| The dome of the furnace consists of loam. It is an ideal building material for this purpose. It is easy to work with and has good heat accumulation properties.
The baking surface consists of quarry tile. I was able to obtain the rock plates from a business that specializes in natural stone. The pieces I obtained were left over from window sills and stone counters for a kitchen. You may also use granite stone or tile or similar heatproof stones. The remaining pieces I cut myself with an angle sander. It is also possible to obtain cut stone from a professional supplier.
The loam is mixed with water until it becomes a supple but still ductile mass. This is used to fill in the interior of the pedestal then the quarry tile is placed on the surface of the loam bed to make a baking surface. Make sure that the baking surface is level.
